Peter Mara is a Co-Founder, Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Swift Current Energy. Peter has over 17 years of experience in the energy industry. With extensive experience in project development, project finance and tax equity matters, Peter leads all investment analysis efforts for the company. He has originated a number of the company’s projects, including the High Lonesome wind project in Texas.
Prior to Swift Current Energy, Peter was Vice President of Finance of Westerly Wind, LLC from its inception in 2010. Westerly Wind provided development capital for wind energy projects, which included developing and selling over 800MW of wind generation. Prior to Westerly Wind, LLC, Peter was at U.S. Renewables Group, LLC, the lead private equity investor in Westerly Wind, where he worked on a numerous acquisitions and investments and supported building platforms in the renewable power generation, biofuels, and clean technology infrastructure sectors. Before USRG, Peter was an Associate in the Project Finance and Infrastructure Group at John Hancock and Manulife, where he participated in numerous project debt financings, infrastructure and power generation private equity investments, and utility bond financings. Peter graduated from Northeastern University, Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in Business Administration.
