The Origination team is responsible for sourcing and structuring the revenue for each of Swift Current’s projects and plays a critical strategic role in maximizing each project’s value in constantly changing market conditions.

Job Scope:
The Origination Analyst role offers a fantastic opportunity to learn about energy markets across North America and provides a hands-on opportunity to work with a variety of power buyers to help them to realize their sustainability goals. Through this role, the Origination Analyst will gain exposure to energy markets across North America and will be central to identifying and sourcing the optimal revenue structure for each project. Primary responsibilities of the Origination Analyst include the following:
- Research and identify new origination prospects
- Prepare and ensure timely delivery of high-quality proposals in response to requests for proposals (“RFPs”) from utilities, municipalities, corporates, universities, trading shops, and energy services companies
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Development, Finance, Project Execution and other internal teams in order to prepare for proposals and meetings with customers
- Support the sourcing, structuring, and negotiation of long-term PPAs and other revenue contracts for Swift Current projects
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and materials to support approvals of proposed bids and negotiated revenue agreements
- Perform energy market research and analysis
- Support revenue-related diligence of existing and new project opportunities
- Ad hoc tasks as required from time to time
Job responsibilities may evolve based on Company needs and individual career growth. This role reports to the Vice President of Origination.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business or related field
- Minimum of two (2) years’ post-undergraduate professional experience is preferred
- Prior professional experience or educational focus on the energy sector; direct experience studying or working within renewable energy is preferred
- Knowledge of the electric utility industry and electric energy markets
- Knowledge of wind, solar, and energy storage power systems
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly with Excel
- Current authorization to live and work in the U.S.
