Contracts Manager

Swift Current Energy, a renewable energy project developer, owner, and operator (the “Company”), is seeking a Contracts Manager to join its growing Legal team. The Company has primary offices in Boston MA; Yarmouth ME; and Houston TX; this role may be based in any of these locations, with a preference for the Boston area.

Job Scope:

The primary responsibilities of the Contracts Manager include the following:

  • Draft, edit, and support the negotiation of legal documents such as NDAs, MSAs, Purchase Orders, Terms and Conditions, and other low risk/low value contracts under the supervision of senior members of the Legal team and outside counsel
  • Support the execution of complex muti-document transactions such as PPAs, EPCs, M&As, project financings, and others
  • Maintain contract intake and repository with responsibility to ensure contracts are assigned to the appropriate attorney for review, executed in accordance with signing authorities, and maintained in a manner that they are readily accessible by members of the Legal team and other internal functions
  • Coordinate and assist in responding to contract inquiries from all internal teams and work to resolve issues, secure approvals, and ensure successful execution of contracts
  • Oversee, review, proofread, and quality check contracts prior to signing by Company-authorized representatives
  • Continually handle multiple contract actions with short turnaround times in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate contract auto-renewals, expirations, and terminations to applicable parties
  • Assist in the implementation and management of a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM)/Contract Policy (CP)
  • Assist with the tracking of legal projects, entity information and corporate governance, compliance deadlines and other miscellaneous matters
  • Provide back-up support to colleagues across the Legal team as needed
  • Ad hoc tasks as required from time to time

Job responsibilities may evolve based on Company needs and individual career growth. This role reports to the Director of Legal Project Management with oversite from the Chief Legal Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of proven work experience as a Contract Administrator, Contract Manager, Paralegal or other relevant role
  • Understanding of and experience with the key concepts and legal provisions of contracts
  • Knowledge of and experience with NDAs and MSAs is a must
  • Knowledge of and experience with CLM principals
  • Knowledge of Smart Sheets, FirmEx, and Lucid is a plus, but not required
  • Technical understanding of MS Office including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint a must
  • Preference for candidates who possess a basic to intermediate understanding of the energy, and particularly the renewable energy, industry
  • Bachelors or Associates degree preferred; Paralegal Certificate a plus
  • Current notary certification/license a plus, but not required
  • Current authorization to live and work in the U.S.
